    User’s Manual Model 194 Series Section 1 Section Introduction he Ludlum Model 194 DOSE EQUIVALENT RATE METER is designed to accurately measure gamma radiation doses. It utilizes a special plastic scintillator that converts the radiation to visible light, which is then measured and displayed. It is very sensitive and can measure background levels of radiation as well as higher levels.

    User’s Manual Model 194 Series Section 4 Section Operating Procedures Note: To open the battery lid, twist the slotted, knurled knob counter-clockwise a quarter of a turn. To close, twist clockwise a quarter of a turn.  Open the lid and install two "AA" size batteries. Note the (+) (-) marks on the bottom of the battery holder.
