THANKS FOR BUYING THIS RJ SPEED DRAGSTER KIT . IT IS MADE FOR STRAIGHT LINE DRAG RACING AND
MAY BE BROKEN IF RUN INTO SOLID OBJECTS REPEATEDLY AT HIGH SPEED. IT REQUIRES A MOTOR, BAT-
TERY PACK, AND A TWO CHANNEL RADIO CONTROL UNIT WITH ONE SERVO AND AN ESC. A STANDARD
SIZE OR MINI SERVO IS GOOD FOR THE STEERING AND MOST ESC'S WILL WORK. YOU NEED TO BUY AN
ESC TO MATCH UP WITH THE MOTOR YOU ARE GOING TO USE.
YOU WILL NEED A SMALL PAIR OF PLIERS, AND A 1/4" WRENCH OR NUT DRIVER. HEX WRENCHES TO FIT
THE SOCKET HEAD SCREWS IN THE KIT ARE INCLUDED. YOU WILL ALSO NEED PAINT FOR THE BODY AND
WING THAT IS MADE FOR LEXAN PLASTIC.
MAKE SURE THESE HOLES LINE UP
STEP 2 ATTACH THE BRACE WITH FOUR ANGLE
BRACKETS AND EIGHT 1/4" SCREWS. INSTALL ALL
THE SCREWS LOOSLY , THEN TIGHTEN THEM.
STEP 3 OPEN BAG D2 INSERT 3 - 1/2" LONG
SCREWS THRU THE FRONT OF THE CHASSIS AND
INSTALL 1/8 SPACERS(LONGER ONES) ON THE TWO
FRONT SCREWS AND A 3/32 SPACER (SHORTER)
ON THE REAR SCREW.
STEP 5 OPEN BAG D2A THREAD A THIN NUT ON EACH
KINGPIN. INSTALL THE KINGPINS ON EACH END OF THE
FRONT AXLE AND RETAIN EACH ONE WITH A LOCKNUT.

STEP 1 OPEN BAG DI AND THE HDWE BAG INSIDE IT.
ASSEMBLE THE 5231 SUB FRAME TO THE 5031 CHASSIS (SUB
FRAME ON TOP) WITH 4 1/4" SCREWS AND NUTS.
STEP 4 INSTALL THE 5238 FRONT AXLE PLATE AND RE-
TAIN WITH THREE BLACK NYLON NUTS.

  • Page 2 STEP 6 RUN A 1/8 DRILL THROUGH EACH 5351 STEER- ING BLOCK AND MAKE SURE IT SLIDES SMOOTHLY ON THE KINGPIN. LUBE THE KINGPINS WITH LIGHT OIL OR SILICONE LUBE AND SLIDE THEM ON FOLLOWED BY A 5228 SPRING , WASHER AND 5221 E-CLIP. INSTALL AN E-CLIP ON EACH AXLE AND SLIDE THEM THROUGH THE STEERING BLOCKS.
  • Page 3 STEP 13 OPEN BAG D3 INSTALL TWO 5282 ANGLE BRACKETS TO THE MOTOR MOUNT. NOTE THAT THE FRONT ONE MOUNTS ON THE OUTSIDE WITH A FLAT HEAD SCREW FROM THE INSIDE. ATTACH IT TO THE CHASSIS REAR WITH TWO MORE 1/4” SCREWS AND TIGHTEN THEM.
  • Page 4 STEP 19 INSTALL THE POST FROM BAG 6 IN THE HOLE JUST BEHIND THE CHASSIS BRACE WITH THE 3/8 SCREW. ALIGN IT SO THE HOLE AT THE TOP POINTS TOWARD THE BALL STUD ON THE TOP PLATE.THREAD THE WHITE BALL CUP ONTO THE ROD WITH THE THREADED END.
