Hidden Theater:
surround sound that looks as incredible as it sounds.
The main left and right channel speakers form the basis of your
"music" system, and are mainly responsible for reproducing
off-screen effects and the film's soundtrack.
The center channel speaker, arguably the most critical speaker in a
Hidden Theater system, creates the connection between what you
see and what you hear.
Surround speakers are installed alongside or behind the listening
position and are responsible for creating atmosphere and ambience,
plus most of the movie's special effects.
Hidden Theater
With up to 7 speakers and a subwoofer, today's digital home
theater systems completely envelop the listener in sound.
But sometimes there's a desire for the speakers to blend into
your décor, not take it over. The solution: A Boston Hidden
Theater system that delivers all the high-performance and
impact desired in a home theater, while preserving those
things we value most in our homes. Space. Décor.
Hidden Theater Package Guide: a simple way to select the best system.
Selecting a Boston Acoustics Hidden Theater System is simple. Just choose one of our pre-configured packages and add a subwoofer and/or optional
surround-back speaker(s). Or, if you prefer, select à la carte from Boston Acoustics' menu of Designer in-wall, in-ceiling, and installed subwoofer speaker systems.

The subwoofer reproduces the bass notes and adds realism to
special effects such as explosions, jet engines, and earthquakes.
6.1 and 7.1 surround processors often support the surround-back
channel(s), which when used in addition to side/rear-mounted
surround speakers, enhances the sense of front-to-back motion
in a movie's soundtrack and creates a sound field that completely
envelops the audience.
Rear channel subwoofer. In any room, there are "standing waves"
caused by bass energy reflecting off of the walls. Sometimes these
standing waves create "null points," where less bass is heard. By
adding a rear subwoofer and placing it asymmetrically to the front
sub, you eliminate the null point because the null of one sub will
almost never be the same as the null point of the other subwoofer.
