Chapter 2 -- Installation -- 1st Time Device Installation in Windows
As shown in this Figure, do not choose to let Windows Update find the device driver that you need. The
Windows Update web site has no knowledge of the Gamry Instruments PCI4 family of devices.
Make sure you select No, not this time. After you select, Next, you should see a screen that looks like this:
All Gamry device drivers are pre-installed to your machine during the software installation process. Select
Install the software automatically, then select Next.
These messages will also be seen when a PCI4 family instrument is moved to a new PCI slot. In this case, you
can select Install the software automatically even if you do not have the Gamry Instruments CD. The driver
that was previously installed on your computer's hard drive will be used
The Windows Device Manger will locate and install the required files, which are already on your system.
Your Gamry Software CD is not required at this point. However, if you do not have your Gamry Software CD or
lose the CD at any point, contact Gamry Instruments, or your local Gamry Sales representative for assistance.
Once the drivers and associated support files have to copied to your system, you should see another screen that
looks like this:
