Malfunction

DANGER!
Risk of death by electrocution!
Always unplug the machine from the mains
power supply, turn off the main switch and
lock it with a padlock before opening the
machine to carry out any repairs.
NOTE!
If operating errors occur, specific pop-up win-
dows containing error messages appear on
the display. These provide information about
the cause and remedies.
If the problem cannot be resolved, touch the
blue question mark — the address of your ser-
vice technician appears.

6 .1 Motor faults

If the shredder's motor overheats, a built-in thermal
protection system interrupts the circuit that enables
operation at full capacity. A pop-up window contai-
ning the respective error message appears.
After cooling (approx. 30 min), the machine can be
used again at full capacity.
NOTE!
If the machine no longer operates at full capa-
city, even though the overheated motor has
been allowed to cool down (pop-up window
no longer closes), there is a defect in the ma-
chine. In this case, please inform our customer
service department.

6 .2 Fault checklist

If the machine is not functioning properly, you should
check the following:
• is the machine plugged into the mains power sup-
ply?
• is the locking switch (fig. 4/1) unlocked?
• is the main switch (fig. 4/2) turned on?
• is the emergency-stop rail (fig. 3) released?
¾ Pull out the red rail on the feed table.
• is the shredder bin (fig. 9/3) fully docked?
• is the shredder bin (fig. 9/3) full?
¾ Empty the shredder bin.
• is the switch flap (fig. 1) for the „shredder bin full"
indicator easy to move?
¾ It may be necessary to free the switch.
• is the motor overloaded?
¾ Please refer to the section headed „Motor faults",
p. 17.
• is there a phase failure?
¾ Check the three-phase fuse at the power supply
socket, and replace if necessary.
NOTE!
If none of the listed inspection points are re-
levant, or if other machine malfunctions are
identified, the machine must not be operated!
In such cases, please inform our customer ser-
vice department.
