FULL -1/8: The dynamic range is compressed slightly (1/8) to full
(FULL).
OFF: The dynamic range is not compressed at all (default).
Component (video output)
Select the video output option for the playback device that is connected
and which you wish to use. Choosing the right signal format depends on
the type of connection and the playback device (see also the operating
manual of the replay unit).
CVBS: Select this option if your playback device is connected to the
DVD player via the composite video and/or S-video connection.
YUV: Select this option if your playback device is connected to the
DVD player via the component video connection.
RGB: Select this option if your playback device is connected to the
DVD player via the SCART connection.
NOTE:
If you would like to select the „RGB" setting, please ensure that
your playback device supports this setting.

Scan Mode
Choosing the right signal format depends on the type of connection and
the playback device (see also the operating manual of the replay unit).
Older replay units normally only support the so-called interlaced scanning
method („INTERLACE"). With this method the image is composed by
means of two successively built up fi elds. The fi rst fi eld thereby consists of
the even screen lines, the second one of the odd ones. With the „progres-
sive" Video signal, in contrast, the complete image is build up in a single
process. The thus achieved image quality is normally much higher.
The following options are available:
Progressive: Choose this option if your playback device supports
progressive signals and is connected to the DVD-Player by means of a
Component-Video cable.
Interlace: Choose this option if your playback device does not support
progressive signals and is connected to the DVD-Player by means of a
Component-Video cable.
NOTE:
Scan Mode
The „
" menu is only available if the „YUV" option or
the „RGB" option is activated in the „Component" menu.
Scan Mode
If the option „
your playback device does not support Progressive-Scan signals,
no picture is displayed.
