E6L Engine: Replacing the PSU Bay This section provides instructions for replacing the PSU (Power Supply Unit) bay in the E6L Engine: VENUE E6L Engine PSU bay Before you Begin Make sure to collect all the following items before beginning the procedure.

1. Prepare the E6L Do the following to prepare the E6L for the replacement procedure: Make sure you have assembled all Required Tools and Items Put on your anti-static wrist band and configure according to its instructions. Shut down your system, and disconnect any cables connected to your E6L engine. Place your E6L on a table or other flat work surface and make sure the surface is clear of any debris.

Simultaneously pull the two bottom thumbscrews outward so the latches they are attached to are fully extended, as shown in Figure 2. The E6L Engine Core will protrude slightly when the latches are fully extended. Figure 2. Latches fully extended Using the handle, slowly slide the core partially out.
3. Remove the Top Cover Remove the E6L top cover for access to the PSU bay and its cables. To remove the E6L top cover: Make sure you have removed the E6L Engine Core as explained in the previous section. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver remove the eight fasteners that secure the top cover to the E6L chassis, shown in Figure 4.

4. Remove the PSU Bay To remove the PSU bay: Make sure you have removed the E6L Engine Core as explained in the previous section. The E6L should look similar to the following image. Figure 6. Next, remove the four screws securing the PSU bay to the bottom of the E6L engine by doing the following: • Move the E6L over the edge of your table so you can access the underside of the engine chassis, being careful to ensure the unit does not tip forward off the table.

Carefully slide the PSU bay out of the back of the E6L chassis, just far enough to clear the chassis. Avoid stretching the cables excessively. Very carefully set the PSU bay on top of the chassis as shown in Figure 10. Figure 10.

Connect the black Return and yellow Power cable assemblies to the back of the new PSU bay by doing the following: • Be sure that the insulating foam is present between the two terminals on the rear of the PSU bay. •...

Being careful to not stretch or strain any cables, carefully align the new PSU bay at the back of the E6L to install it into the chas- sis. While doing so: • Make sure none of the cables are tangled inside the E6L. •...

Replace the four screws securing the PSU bay to the bottom of the E6L engine by doing the following: • Move the E6L over the edge of your table so you can access the underside of the E6L chassis, being careful to ensure the unit does not tip forward off the table.
