Adjusting the auxiliary winch limit switch
3.3.2
The auxiliary winch limit switch is sensitive to the hook approaching the pulley
(limit switch in ascent):
• when the rope, while rewinding, moves the hook near the return pulley,
the latter comes into contact with the collar, lifting it, and via the lever
recalled by the spring, it closes the contact inside the limit switch;
• when the rope is unwinding, the hook descends and the collar lowers
(due to the weight force that overcomes the spring return) and opens
the contact inside the limit switch, via the chain and the lever.
The lever is shown in
fig.3.3.2.1
MAINTENANCE ACCORDING TO THE CONDITIONS OF THE DRILLING M.
Chapter 3
.
fig.3.3.2.1
It is made up of: a lever G, a return spring
E, and a collar F:
The return spring E remains elongated due
to the collar F weight, while when the collar
F rises by the action of the hook up, the
spring E shortens by closing the limit switch
contact via the lever G.
In case the spring force is not sufficient to
retrieve back the leverage, it is necessary to
replace the spring itself. When replacing the
spring and the chain on the lever, it is
important to observe the positions in the
holes as shown in fig. 3.3.2.1 so as not to
compromise the smooth running of the limit
switch.
