Gaterotor Ball Bearing Removal
1.
Remove bolts (102.4) from the outer retainer
(102.3), see Figure 5-29.
2.
Remove ball bearing outer retainer (102.3).
3.
Using a press, remove ball bearings (102.2) from
housing (102.1).

Gaterotor Ball Bearing Installation
1.
Install three ball bearings (102.2) in the housing
(102.1) so the first two bearings are back to back,
and the second and third bearings are face to face
(the larger sides of the inner races are placed to-
gether, as shown in Figure 5-29). A light applica-
tion of clean compressor lubricating oil should be
used to ease the installation of the bearings into the
housing.
2.
Center the bearing outer retainer (102.3) on hous-
ing (102.1), use Loctite® 242-thread locker and
evenly tighten the bolts (102.4) to the recom-
mended torque value (4 lb-ft), see Figure 5-29.
