8. THE FM-FUNCTION
8.2 FM (UKW) reception with RDS information
RDS is a method of transmitting additional information via FM/UKW sta-
tions. Broadcasters use RDS to send their station name or programme
type, for example. It is shown in the display. The device can display the RDS
information RT (radio text), PS (station name), PTY (programme type).
8.3 Automatic station scan
Press and hold the <Tune or Tune> buttons (2 to 3 seconds) to

automatically search for the next station with a sufficient signal.
If an FM station with a sufficiently strong signal is found, the search stops

and the station is played. If an RDS station is received, the station name
and, if applicable, the radio text appear. To set up stations with a weaker
signal, please use the manual station search function.
8.4 Manual station search

Repeatedly press the <Tune or Tune> briefly to set the desired
station or frequency. The display shows the frequency in
0.05 MHz steps.
8.5 Scan settings
The search's sensitivity can be set in this menu item.
Press and hold the Menu button, then use the <Tune or Tune>

buttons to select [Scan settings] and then press the
Select button.

Select whether the scan shall pause only on strong signals
[Strong signals only] or on all stations (also weak signals) [All stations].
When set to 'All stations', the auto scan stops at each available station.
This may cause weak-signal stations to be played with noise and static.
8.6 Storing an FM station in a memory slot
The programme memory can store up to 10 stations in the FM/UKW
range.

First set the desired station frequency (Section 8.3, 8.4).

To save this station in a favourite's slot while the station is
playing, press and hold the Preset button.
