5. OPERATION AND FIRST USE
Make sure that the operating voltage of the power supply corresponds to
the local mains voltage before plugging it into a wall outlet.
After the first connection to the power supply,
'IMPERIAL' will be displayed.
Following that, you may select the operating language.
To do so, select one of the available languages with the <Tune or Tune>
E
buttons and confirm your selection by pressing the Select button.
After that, a station search via DAB+ is performed for the first time.
5.2.3. Orienting the telescopic antenna
The number and signal quality of the stations to be received depends on
the reception conditions at the setup site. Excellent signal reception can be
achieved with the telescopic antenna.
>
Straighten the telescopic antenna and extend it lengthwise.
The exact alignment of the telescopic antenna is often important, especially
in the peripheral areas of DAB+ reception.
You can quickly find the location of the nearest transmitter mast online,
for example at www.dabplus.de.
Start the first search near a window in the direction of the transmitter
mast. In the case of poor weather, DAB+ reception may be limited. Do not
touch the telescopic antenna while playing a station. This may negatively
impact the reception and lead to interruptions.
5.2.4. Using headphones
Hearing loss!
Do not listen to the radio at high volume when using headphones. This may
lead to permanent hearing loss. Before using headphones, set the device
volume to minimum. Only use headphones with a 3.5 mm plug.
