Checking coulter discs
Readjusting coulter discs
82
The coulter discs open the seed channel through their wedge-type arrangement to-
ward each other.
The coulter discs must touch each other at this.
The coulter discs are set correctly when the following conditions are met:
• When one coulter disc turns, the opposite disc turns as well on its own.
• The clearing unit is not clamped together with the discs (between the coulter
discs).
This pre-tension will reduce due to wear and the discs will no longer have contact.
In this case the discs must be replaced or readjusted:
1
Coulter disc adjustment
1. Unscrew the depth guide wheels. See the depth guide wheels section.
2. Loosen the screws (1) and take them off together with the coulter disc.
3. Remove the spacer disc(s) (2).
4. Fasten the coulter disc again with the screw (1). Tighten the screws with 140
Nm.
5. Make this change to both coulter discs.
6. Check for pre-tension and free rotation.
7. Readjust the spacing of the depth guide wheels to the coulter disc, if neces-
sary.
NOTE
The washer (3) must remain permanently mounted. It must therefore not be used
to readjust the coulter disc!
