  • Page 17 How the Electric Vehicle Works Instead of using gasoline to power an internal combustion engine, your vehicle uses stored electricity to power an electric propulsion motor. As with a gasoline powered vehicle, the efficiency of an electric vehicle (and the vehicle’s range) is most impacted by the driver’s driving style.
