The needle on the Ricoma EM-1010 may be dropping and not moving due to incorrect positioning or installation. Ensure the needle scarf is facing the back of the machine. If the needle is not positioned correctly, the machine will not function properly. Additionally, check for broken needle pieces in the bobbin area and replace the needle if necessary. If the issue persists, consider contacting a qualified technician.

I have a Ricoma EM 1010 with less than 100 hours on it that i bought new from Ricoma. It embroiders fine until it makes this noise then it stops. I will say axis not at 100 degrees, so I push button and it says no needle found. When it stops the needle will stay down. So shut machine off and the hand wheel in the back will not turn until I can get the needle pushed back up by hand. I will turn the machine back on and push the button and it find the needle and goes back to the 100 degree mark and run until it stops again. Some times it runs for 100 stitches and sometime 100,000 stitches before it does it again. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I have reached out to Ricoma with no responses. Thank you!

To troubleshoot a Ricoma EM-1010 that stops embroidering and displays a "no needle found" error, follow these steps:

1. Remove any broken needle pieces using tweezers.
2. Loosen the needle screw with a screwdriver.
3. Remove the broken or missing needle.
4. Insert a new needle, making sure the big groove and needle hole face forward.
5. Tighten the screw securely.
6. Thread the needle from front to back and under the presser foot.

These steps ensure the needle is correctly installed and detected by the machine.
