SURROUND OUTPUTS

Your processor has multiple surround processor outputs for use with external amplifier(s) or powered speakers.
The Reference 50 processor allows THX Surround EX compatibility via two Surround Back 'S BACK' processor
outputs.

RCA Unbalanced Output Connections

Your processor has a full compliment of RCA-type unbalanced surround outputs for use with external amplifier(s)
or powered speakers.
Note: some power amplifiers may have a switch that is used to configure the AMPLIFIER CHANNELS for use
with either XLR balanced or RCA unbalanced preamplifier/processor line outputs. For use with B & K amplifiers,
RCA unbalanced is selected when the switch is set to the OUT position. Do not connect an amplifier channel
to both the RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced preamplifier line outputs.
Here is a typical processor surround output setup

XLR Balanced Output Connections

In addition to your processor's full compliment of RCA-type unbalanced surround outputs, the Reference 50 has a
full compliment of XLR-type balanced surround outputs. Your processors balanced surround outputs in
conjunction with our line of balanced amplifiers, allow the next step in a cost-effective high performance home
theater system.

Subwoofer Output - Connect an XLR or RCA cable from the processor's SUBWOOFER or SW output (part of
the surround outputs). If your subwoofer does not contain its own amplifier (powered subwoofer) you will need to
acquire the use of an external power amplifier. Connect the processor's SUBWOOFER or SW output to the audio
input of the external amplifier. Connect the external amplifier's speaker output to your subwoofer.
