5. Whenever power to the system is disconnected (for repair or service of the vehicle),
the chirps will be active when the power is re - connected. To turn the chirps off, simply
execute steps 1 through 3 above.
NOTE: Whenever the chirps are by-passed, the 3 chirp defective zone and the 4 chirp
intrusion indicator will always operate. This feature will always warn you if a zone is
active during arming or the vehicle was tampered with in your absence, even if the
normal arming and disarming chirps have been turned off.
REMOTE PANIC OPERATION (CHANNEL 1):
The arming button on your keychain transmitter also functions as a "panic" switch for
instant activation of the alarm in emergency situations. To use the remote panic switch;
1. Press and hold the arming button on the keychain transmitter for 3 seconds or more.
The alarm will immediately sound.
2. To stop the alarm, press and release the arming button on the keychain transmitter.
If the button is not pressed, the alarm will automatically stop after 60 seconds.
WARNING! Excessive pressure on the transmitter buttons will damage the
internal components on the circuit board. All that is required is
a light push to the button.
OPTIONAL FEATURES (CHANNEL 2 AND CHANNEL 3):
This security system has two additional features that can be wired or programmed to
operate a number of different optional accessories. Some of the more common uses for
these "channels" are:
Remote Trunk Release - available for any vehicle with factory installed electronic
push-button trunk release.
Remote Car Starter - available for most automatic transmission, fuel injected
vehicles.
Remote Window Roll Up - available for most vehicles equipped with power
windows.
Garage Door Interface - available for use with electric garage door openers.
Additional Vehicle Control - Available to control a second vehicle equipped with
a similar PS-Series Audiovox alarm.
To activate the optional accessory:
1. Press button #2 on the keychain transmitter momentarily to activate it's option.
2. Press button #3 on the keychain transmitter momentarily to activate it's option.
NOTE: If either button #2 or button #3 are programmed to operate channel 2 of your
alarm, the button must be held for 3 seconds for activation, (consult your installation
center for more details).
