Occupant Restraint
Multi-Piece Chest & Waist Belt
The multi-piece chest and waist
belt assembly provides separate
lap and shoulder belts that can be
routed and positioned indepen-
dently.
Lap Belt (2 Piece): One of the
two lap belts is equipped with a
female receptacle. The mating lap
belt is equipped with the buckle.
The opposite end of each lap belt
is equipped with a slotted female
fitting that attaches to the corre-
sponding wheelchair rear tiedown
strap (at floor-mount keeper
anchor point). See photos at right
and illustrations on pages 34-36.
Position the two-piece lap belt
onto the passenger's lap and route

the belt ends through the back of
the chair. Connect the lap belt
slotted female fitting to the cor-
responding wheelchair restraint
belt QRT retractor. QRT retrac-
tors are equipped with a pin that
attaches to belt slotted female fit-
tings. Adjust lap belts as needed
using belt adjuster.
Shoulder Belt: The adjustable
shoulder belt is equipped with a
slotted female fitting at each end.
One fitting attaches to the lap
belt (equipped with a pin fitting).
The slotted female fitting at the
opposite (upper) end of the belt
attaches to the vehicle-mounted
shoulder belt adapter (adapters
located at OEM shoulder belt
positions). Shoulder belt adapt-
ers are equipped with a pin fitting
that attaches to the shoulder belt
slotted female fitting.
