11:9 Handrims
The way in which the user is able to
grip the handrims is influenced by the
handrim's material and its distance
from the wheel. Friction-coated, cellu-
lar rubber and plastic coated handrims
are available as options.
Cellular rubber/plastic
coated handrims increases
the friction.
It is therefore important to
remember that when stop-
ping suddenly, friction burns
(e.g. blisters) may occur.
11:10 Adjusting the distance of the handrim
Aluminium, stainless, plastic coated
and cellular rubber handrims: The
distance between the wheel and the
handrim can be adjusted by adding or
removing spacers.
11 Driving technique, manoeuvring
Be aware that when pass-
ing through narrow spaces
there is a risk of getting your
fingers caught. There is also a
risk of fingers getting caught
in the spokes.
If there is a risk of the user's
fingers getting caught in the
spokes we recommend the
use of spoke guards.
Tools: 4 mm Allen key.
