Manoeuvring the stretcher
When manoeuvring the Model 11 stretcher on flat ground the track must be in the stowed
position. To stow the track press down the lever located on the underside of the stretcher
until the track is flat against the stretcher. (Fig 1)
To roll the stretcher, lift the stretcher until the wheels at the underside of the footend of
the stretcher are in contact with the ground. Whilst rolling the stretcher in this position,
always observe for any obstacles that may be on the ground. (Fig. 2)
Practice steering and moving the stretcher with a prior to putting the unit into operation.

Manoeuvring the stretcher down stairs
To open the track for decent down stairs, hold the stretcher upright and place your foot on
the bar of the track, push downwards until the track locks into place. (Fig. 3)
Place the stretcher at the top of the stairs with the track resting on the top step and slowly
descend the stairs in a controlled manner, keeping the track in contact with the stairs. (Figs
4, 5, 6) Ferno UK Ltd advises that two operators may be needed for heavy loads.

To turn the stretcher on a landing or at the bottom of the stairs lift the stretcher so it is
resting on the two wheels placed at the front of the footend of the stretcher. Holding on to
the frame of the stretcher you will now be able to turn the stretcher in the direction you
require in a confined space. (Figs 7, 8, 9). Continue with the transportation.
