Stretcher Operation
FOWLER POSITION OPERATION
Raise the Fowler Section
1 . Lift the red Litter Strap (A, Figure 4), the Fowler
bail (B) will slide along the Catch Plate (D) and
drop into detents for set Fowler angles .
2 . Raise the Fowler slightly above the desired
angle to ensure the Fowler Bail (B) is securely
engaged and then lower the Fowler back down .
Lower the Fowler Section
3 . Lift the red Litter Strap (A, Figure 4) slightly . Raise it far enough for the Fowler Bail (B) to clear
the Catch Plate (D) . With the Fowler raised, lift the red knob on the Fowler bail Release (C) up
as far as possible .
4 . Lower the Fowler to the desired position . Release the Fowler Bail Release (C) and the red Litter
Strap (A) when the Fowler is in the desired position . Ensure the Fowler Bail (B) is securely
engaged in the Catch Plate (D) .
Fully engage the fowler bail in
one of three positions . Failure
to do so could result in injury
to the patient or the caregiver .
The Catch Plate (D) only has 3
positions: 0°, 20° and 30° .
