Stretcher Operation

TRENDELENBURG OPERATION

Place Litter into Trendelenburg Position
1 . Lift the red Litter Strap (A, Figure 5), the
Litter Catch (C) will slide along the Catch
pin (D) between different Trendelenburg
angles .
2 . Raise the Litter slightly above the desired angle and then lower it down until the Litter Catch (C)
securely engages with the Catch Pin (D) .
Return the Litter to the Horizontal Position (from Trendelenburg)
3 . Lift up on the red Litter Strap (A, Figure 5) until the Litter Catch (C) is free from the Catch Pin
(D) . Pull the red Litter Catch Knob (B) toward the foot end of the Litter .
4 . Lower the Litter Top until it is slightly above the Horizontal Position . Release the red Litter Catch
Knob (B) and then continue lowering the Litter Top until the Litter Catch (C) engages securely
on the Catch Pin (D) .
Place the Litter into Reverse Trendelenburg Position
5 . Lift up on the red Litter Strap (A, Figure 5) and pull the red Litter Catch Knob (B) toward the foot
end of the Litter .
6 . Lower the Litter Top down until it rests on the center support beam .
Return the Litter to the Horizontal Position (from Reverse Trendelenburg)
7 . Lift up on the red Litter Strap (A, Figure 5) until the Litter Top is slightly above the Horizontal
position and then lower the Litter Top until the Litter Catch (C) engages securely on the Catch
Pin (D) .
Fully engage litter catch
in desired position . Failure
to do so could result in
injury to the patient or the
caregiver .
Use red Litter Straps
when raising or lowering
litter top . Failure to do so
could result in injury to the
patient or the caregiver .
The Litter Catch only has 4 positions: 0°, 5° and 10° of Trendelenburg, and 5°
in Reverse Trendelenburg .
