13. Airframe Fuel Filter Element

(Ref. Figure 207)
Prevent fuel vapor ignition.
WARNING
Turn OFF and disconnect all
electrical power. Electrically ground
helicopter before opening fuel system.

(1). Disconnect battery and external power
(Ref. CSP−900RMM−2).
(2). Place suitable fuel container under fuel
drain lines.
(3). Push the drain control valve (1) to
drain fuel from filter bowl (2).
(4). Remove 22 bolts (3) and washers (4)
from access cover (5) and drain control
guard (6). Remove cover and drain
control guard.
(5). Remove drain control (1)

(6). Remove lockwire from hose (7). Remove
hose.

(7). Remove lockwire from filter bowl (2).
CAUTION
the top of the filter assembly while remov
ing filter bowl. Use a backup wrench to sta
bilize the filter head.
(8). Hold top of filter assembly and unscrew
(9). Slide filter bowl (2) down and out.
(10). Remove filter packing (8), top seal (9),
(11). Replace filter element (10).
(12). Install bottom seal (11), filter element
CAUTION

the filter bowl. Use a backup wrench to sta
bilize the top of the filter.
(13). Install filter bowl (2) onto the filter
(14). Install hose (7). Use lockwire (C701).
(15). Install drain control (1)
(16). Apply thin bead of conductive sealant
(17). Install 22 bolts (3) and washers (4) that
