SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR
YOUR BREVILLE ESPRESSO
MACHINE
• Read carefully and save all
the instructions provided
with an appliance.
• Do not remove the Group
Handle during the espresso
pour or water fl ow as the
unit is under pressure.
Removing the Group
Handle during either of
these operations can lead
to a scalding or injury.
• The Steam & Hot Water
Wand becomes very hot
during texturing milk and
water fl ow. This may cause
burns in case of contact,
therefore avoid any direct
contact with the wand.
• Always disconnect the plug
from the power outlet prior
to cleaning the espresso
machine or if there is any
problem during the coffee
making process.
• Do not place hands directly
under the steam, hot water
or espresso pour as this can
lead to a scalding or injury.
• The temperature of accessible
surfaces may be high when
the appliance is operating.
Even after use, the heating
element surface is subject to
residual heat after use.
• Do not use an appliance for
any purpose other than its

intended use. Injury could
occur from misuse.
• Do not immerse the
appliance or power cord
and plug in water or any
other liquid. Wash the
following 10 parts in warm
water with a mild detergent;
milk jug, drip tray grill,
one cup and two cup fi lter
baskets, group handle/
portafi lter, drip tray, tamper,
top burr, bean hopper and
water reservoir. Rinse and
dry each part thoroughly
before replacing. Wipe the
steam wand with a damp
cloth. See Care & Cleaning
section for full details.
• This appliance is intended
to be used in household
and similar applications
such as: staff kitchen areas
in shops, offi ces and other
working environments; farm
houses; by clients in hotels,
motels and other residential
type environments; bed and
breakfast type environments.
• This appliance can be used
by children aged 8 years
and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack
of experience if they have
been given supervision or
instruction concerning use
of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the
hazards involved. Cleaning
and maintenance shall
not be made by children
unless they are older than
