Cold start

First start in a commissioning

Before the converter is energized for the first time, adjust the setting of thermostat T1 from
+5 °C to +60 °C (41 °F to 140 °F) to remove humidity from the auxiliary control cubicle with
the fan heater. After the converter has been warmed up for one hour, change the setting to
+5 °C (41 °F).
At the same time, it is recommended to start the heater and coolant circulation manually
from the cooling station. Adjust the coolant temperature to a maximum possible level,
+45...+50 °C (113...122 °F).

Normal start and start after blackout

When temperature of the thermostat T1 in the auxiliary control cubicle is below +5 °C (41 °F):
• There is no power supply for the control components in the auxiliary control cubicle.
• The auxiliary control cubicle is heated with heater E1.
• Heating request (relay K9.2) is ON: Turn the liquid heater and pump ON.
• Converter modules are being heated with water circulation.
• If the converter is equipped with the converter module heater option, the grid-side
converter and the generator-side converter are heated with heaters E3, E4, E5 and E6.
When temperature of the thermostat T1 in the auxiliary control cubicle reaches +5 °C (41 °F),
the control program of the converter is controlling the heating and dry-out sequence. For
further details of the control program functions, see the firmware manual.
