3.1

Requirements for use

Six AA alkaline batteries are supplied with the Dräger Aerotest 5000.
The alkaline batteries are located in a compartment below the device.
CAUTION
!
Do not use rechargeable batteries!
Install the alkaline batteries in the battery compartment (1). This is not
necessary if the device is mains-operated only. Remove the
Dräger Aerotest 5000 from the case and insert the alkaline batteries
into the battery compartment ensuring correct polarity. If the capacity
of the inserted alkaline batteries is insufficient, a warning is displayed
and the alkaline batteries must be exchanged. After that the
measurement is continued.
The Dräger Aerotest 5000 must be switched off while connecting the
Dräger Aerotest 5000 to the mains supply or disconnecting it.
3.2

Preparation for use

3.2.1
Switching on the device
To switch on the device, press the green power button (10) and hold it
for approx. 3 seconds. The hardware version, software version, last
calibration date, serial number of the device and, where applicable,
calibration information, are displayed.
3.2.2
Operation/switching off the device
The device is operated via the display (7) using the stylus pin. The
operation is menu-driven. It is used by pressing the display fields or the

3.2.3
Device menus
The following menu options can be selected from the main menu:
Begin Test:
Measurements are performed.
Review Tests:
Measurement results are displayed.
Export Tests:
Measurement results are exported to an
USB stick.
Configure Tester: Device settings are configured.
Via the "Configure Tester" menu option, the language of the display
text can be set to English, German, French or Spanish.

The settings in the "Set-up Tester" menu shall only be
adjusted by Dräger.
