Step 2 Set Jumpers,
JCP Memory Drain JCP is a two-pin single-inline berg. In normal operation, JCP is OPEN. Short pins 1-2 to drain all power
CMOS RAM. Use this technique to remove a password that the user cannot remember. See the drawing on
page 16 for the JCP location.
J8 Bus/CPU Speed Ratio J8 is a two-pin berg that specifies the ratio between the PCI Local bus frequency and the CPU
frequency.
Short Pins 1-2 to specify a 1:2 ratio.
Leave J8 OPEN to specify a 3:2 ratio. See the drawing on page 16 for the J8 location.
JVR CPU Voltage JVR is a six-pin berg that specifies the CPU voltage.

Turn power off.

Place a shorting bridge on JCP for several seconds to
quickly drain CMOS RAM power.

Turn the power on for five seconds.

Turn power off again.

Remove the shorting bridge from JCP.

Turn power on again and boot the computer normally.

Press <Del> to run WINBIOS Setup. Load the Optimal
default settings by clicking on the Optimal icon on the
WINBIOS Setup screen (see page 47).

Modify the WINBIOS Setup Standard Setup, Advanced
Setup, Chipset Setup, Power Management Setup, and
Peripheral Setup options as appropriate.

Choose Save and Exit when leaving WINBIOS Setup.
