Step 3 Loosen the screws on the panel of the UPEU, as shown in
Figure 5-1 Loosening the screws
Step 4 Remove the faulty UPEU from the slot.
Step 5 Put the faulty UPEU into the ESD bag.
Step 6 Slide the new UPEU into the slot of the faulty UPEU.
Step 7 Fasten the screws on the panel of the new UPEU.
Step 8 Install the cables on the panel of the new board according to the recorded installation positions.
Step 9 Power on the BBU by referring to
Step 10 Check the running status of the new UPEU.

Contact the local Huawei office to handle the faulty UPEU.
5.5 Replacing a UTRP
The UTRP is the BBU3900 main control and transmission board, replacing the UTRP disrupts
all the services carried by the NodeB.
Prerequisite
The tools and materials, such as an ESD wrist strap or a pair of ESD gloves, Phillips screwdriver,
ESD box or bag, dustfree cloth, and key to the cabinet door are ready.

The BBU3900 is configured with one active UTRP. Replacing the UTRP disrupts all the
services carried by the NodeB. Therefore, power off the NodeB before replacement.
The BBU3900 is configured with one active UTRP and one standby UTRP. When the active
UTRP is being replaced, an active/standby fail is performed automatically. After the fail
is successful, the standby UTRP becomes the active UTRP and takes over the services, and
