level is reached.
4. Go to the Service menu
from Auto to Manual. Go down to line M10 and change the value from Off to On.
5. If the vacuum pump starts go to point 13.
6. Check the resistance on contactor coil K9 and K10 between A1 and A2 (Schneider grey type:
6-8Ω, Schneider green type: 8-10 Ω, Danfoss: 5-6Ω). If the resistance is outside the specified
ranges, replace the contactor.
7. Activate the contactor K9 as point 4.
8. Measure the voltage output to K9 on the controller X12 or X78 (depending on the controller
version). The voltage should be between 2.5 and 6.5 VDC.
9. If not between the specified range, check the power supply.
10. If between the specified range but the vacuum pump does not start, pull the K9 contactor
manually. If the pump still does not start, check the cable and connector into the pump for
damages and replace as necessary.
11. If the cable and connector are ok, replace the vacuum pump.
12. If no voltage, replace the controller.
13. Go to the Information menu
value should be below 600 mBar.
14. If not, power off the unit and check the wiring of the K9 contactor is according to the wiring
diagram.
15. Power on the unit and start the pump manually as point 4. Confirm that the vacuum pump fan
can rotate freely and is rotating according to the arrow on the left side of the pump.
16. Disconnect the vacuum hose at the vacuum pump and plug the vacuum pump inlet. Go to the

mBar, connect the hose back onto the vacuum pump and ensure the connection is tight and go
to 18.
17. If the pressure is above 30 mBar, install a manometer at the transmitter inlet and check the
reading is similar to the display reading. If not, replace the pressure transmitter. If the ma-
nometer is showing the same "high" pressure (above 30 mBar) as the display, replace the
vacuum pump.
18. If the vacuum fault is still present, disconnect the vacuum hose at the membrane and plug or
seal it. Start the pump manually as point 4.
19. If the membrane pressure on line I18 is below 30 mBar, the membrane connection or the
membrane itself is leaking. Replace the membrane. If the unit is in operation with cargo, be
aware of possible high CO2 level and low O2 level. Check this on the controller main display.
Vent the container according to this manual before removing the right hand inspection cover.
20. If the membrane pressure on line I18 is above 30 mBar, check the hose for leaks and repair
or replace it. Ensure it is connected correctly. After repair or replacement of the vacuum hose,
conduct a container leak test according to this Manual. This is not possible on units in opera-
tion with cargo.

23.4 Replacement of the vacuum pump heating element

1. Power off the unit.
2. Be aware of hot surfaces.
3. Remove the cover shield from the vacuum pump by the 4 bolts. Dismantle the vacuum pump
from its socket. Disconnect the heating element in the terminal box.
4. Tilt the vacuum pump to avoid spilling oil when replacing the heating element.
5. Attach the cables to the terminal box on top of the vacuum pump according to the wiring dia-
gram.
6. Reinstall the vacuum pump and turn the power on.
7. Test performance of the heating element by running a CA PTI.

23.5 CA preparation

The following procedure must be carried out on all Star Cool CA models prior to loading cargo.
1. Ensure that all customer specified checks have been completed.
2. Make sure the inspection covers are in perfect condition and installed correctly.
3. Secure tightly the drain plugs placed near the corners of the container floor.
and select line S01 Manual Operation. Change the value of line M01
and check line I18 Membrane pressure. After 7 seconds the
and view the membrane pressure on line I18. If the pressure is below 30
