Video ID Class

The video ID icon is used to control a split screen or two-
window video ID system. One side views the person and the
other looks at his ID badge. A mirror or camera may be
moved up or down to view the person. The tilt up/down relays
in the Receiver are used to operate the mirror or camera, and a
Receiver auxiliary relay controls the door.
The Video ID Setup dialog box has several sections. Type a
video ID icon Description in the text entry box at the top. This
description is displayed in the icon dialog box when the icon is
activated in Excalibur. Next, enter the number of the Switcher
that controls the camera. The number entered must be for a
valid switcher that is connected and set up.
In the next section of the dialog box enter a Camera number, a
Monitor number to call the camera to, and an optional Preset
scene number for this camera. Next, enter an Auxiliary
number of the auxiliary relay which controls opening the door.
An operator Control Level, from 0 to 15, may be entered to
restrict control of the door operated by this auxiliary relay.
There is an "Autoshunt" entry box that allows automatic
shunting of an alarm contact when the door is opened. An
example of this would be when the video ID icon and a door
icon both control the same door, and the door is alarmed.
Without autoshunting the contact, when the operator released
the door, it would generate an alarm and the door icon would
flash and beep.
A second (local) switcher call may be defined for this icon.
This is useful for operating in a "Satellite" mode, as described
on page 5-2. Select the "2nd Switcher" button to bring up the
Second (LOCAL) Switcher Setup dialog box, illustrated on
page 5-5. Enter the second switcher number and the camera
and monitor numbers in the appropriate entry boxes, then
select "OK" to save the setup data and return to the Video ID
Class Icon Setup dialog box. (Refer to the Second (LOCAL)
Switcher Setup box illustrated on page 5-5.)
The Controls check boxes in the lower section provide
operator controls for either the tilt up/down of a mirror, or the
pan/tilt/zoom and focus control of a camera. These selections
are mutually exclusive, only one can be set. When one of
these controls is selected, the associated operator controls are
displayed when this icon is activated in Excalibur.
The dialog box also allows the definition of a variable speed
pan/tilt. This is used if a variable speed pan/tilt drive and
variable speed compatible Receiver are installed. If variable
speed control is desired, select the Variable Speed check box
and select the default speed in the window to its right. This is
the speed that the pan/tilt starts at.
After all data is entered for the Video ID icon, select "OK" to
save the icon setup data and close the dialog box. Select
"Cancel" to exit from this dialog box without saving the icon
setup information. See page 5-2 for restrictions on using
"Delete" in the icon setup box.
