Administering Quizzes to
Introducing AlphaQuiz SmartApplet
Once you've designed quizzes, your students can take them using
their AlphaSmart devices. After you download a quiz into their
AlphaSmart devices, they can take the test in the classroom, in the
library, or on a field trip.
The basic steps to administering a quiz are
1. The teacher downloads the quiz onto AlphaSmart devices.
2. Students select the correct quiz, enter names and passwords, and
take the quiz.
3. The teacher uploads the student quiz responses to a desktop
computer.
What is a SmartApplet?
A SmartApplet is an application (such as AlphaQuiz) developed
specifically for AlphaSmart devices. Each AlphaSmart device has an
key. Pressing this key displays a menu of SmartApplets
applets
loaded on that AlphaSmart device. Some examples of SmartApplets
are AlphaWord (a word processing program), Calculator (for math
calculations), and AlphaQuiz.
QuizManager is the component in the AlphaQuiz system that handles
downloading quizzes from your computer to AlphaSmart devices.
See"Sending a quiz to connected AlphaSmart devices" on page 83 for
detailed instructions.
