If I'm using an AlphaHub, and also have an additional
available USB port on my computer, can I use both methods
of communicating at the same time with QuizManager?
Yes. QuizManager supports AlphaHub communications and a direct
USB connection simultaneously. This allows you to work with up to
thirty-one AlphaSmart devices at once with QuizManager.
Can a student spell check an essay question?
Spell Check cannot be used directly within AlphaQuiz, although it
can be used in other SmartApplets such as AlphaWord. The person
who designs the quiz can enable or disable Spell Check during a quiz.
When enabled, the student can copy text from an essay answer,
switch to AlphaWord, and spell check the text there. When disabled,
the student cannot spell check text in any SmartApplet. By default,
Spell Check is enabled unless the following settings are checked on
the Advanced tab in Quiz Options:
• "Require students to mark quiz as finished" is selected
• "Enable AlphaSmart Spell Checker when taking the quiz" is
deselected
• "Enable other AlphaSmart SmartApplets when taking the quiz" is
deselected (because Spell Check is available to other
SmartApplets such as AlphaWord)
