Checking the connectivity of service network cables
Network
cable
Straight The indicators at points 1,
through 8, and G turn on in
network sequence.
cable
Crossover The indicators at points 1,
cable 8, and G turn on in
sequence.
NOTE
You can also use the method of looping back Ethernet interfaces ( applicable to the Ethernet interfaces on
a device that is powered on ) to check the connectivity of network cables. That is, connect two Ethernet
interfaces using the network cable to be tested. If the LINK indicator is on, the network cable is normal.
Side A
The indicators at points 1, 8,
and G turn on at the same
time.
The indicators at points 3, 6,
1, 4, 5, 2, 7, 8, and G turn on
at the same time.
