Safety and General Operating Practices
Do not operate in wet areas to prevent electrical shock.
Do not place hands on or around electric motor to prevent burn or electrical shock. The motor
and the pump unit may be hot on the surface.
The power must be turned off before servicing bypass or full-flow filter.
Before starting the Demo set up familiarize yourself with the set-up and operating procedure.
Throughout this manual, the left side and right side are as you are facing the Demo Machine.
When lifting the unit always lift from under the frame. Do not attempt to lift using the acrylic
filter head. Damage to the unit will result.
Tools required: 5/8" / .625 allen wrench for storage tank fill plug and small funnel. Carefully
pour fluid to prevent spillage. Wipe up any fluid around machine to prevent slipping hazards.
Demo Purpose
The purpose for the demonstration machine is to show the difference in filtration ability between the
full-flow filter and the Racor Bypass Oil Cleaner.
Full-flow Filter
The full-flow filter is a typical pleated cellulose media spin-on oil filter found at any parts store and used
on a current internal combustion engine lube oil system. The typical filtration ability varies between 20
and 40 micron. The purpose is to filter all of the engine oil pumped from the crankcase through the filter
for engine component lubrication. The flow of the lube oil is in a radial direction.

The multi-layer cellulose media is wrapped around a center tube at a specific tension and is 3,5 or 10 micron filtration ability depending on the element chosen.

- Page 4 Owner’s Manual With Instructions Parker Racor Absolute Oil Cleaner Demo Machine 4. Remove the tank fill plug with a 5/8” / .625 allen hex wrench. 5. Fill the storage tank to just below the plug opening. This will require approximately 6 quarts / 5.7 liter of fluid.

Rotate the filter selection valve in the front of the demo machine to the Absolute Filter. 11. Locate the on off switch in the back of the machine and lift the switch to the on position.

When the fluid in the plastic tank has reached the level of the center flow port between the plastic tank stop the pump. 14. Locate the brass valve which is forward of the fill port in the storage tank and rotate 90⁰ counter clockwise until it stops.

Operate the machine for 30 minutes and adjust the fluid level in the left side of the plastic tank to stay at a point just below the port flowing from the right side of the plastic tank chamber.
- Page 8 Owner’s Manual With Instructions Parker Racor Absolute Oil Cleaner Demo Machine 2. Turn the filter selector switch to the full-flow filter. 3. Stop the pump motor. 4. Locate the lever on the contaminant tank behind the plastic tank. 5. Push the lever down ONE time to inject the black contaminant. Multiple tests may be able to be run after clean up due to an accumulation of Soft-C that stays on the bottom of the tank.

Start the pump and watch the right side of the plastic tank as the contaminant flows from the full-flow into the right side of the plastic tank and in a short time both sides of the plastic tank are black from the contaminant.

Rotate the filter selection valve to the Absolute bypass direction and allow the pump motor to continue running. 11. In a short time you will notice the right side of the plastic tank is now becoming clear. Note that if too much soft-C is injected the clean-up will take longer.

Locate the valve on the left side of the Demo Machine and rotate up-ward to drain the fluid from the right side of the tank. 3. Start the pump motor and fluid will be pumped from the left side of the tank through the filter/filters and into the right side tank.

With both hands reach through the plastic bag and grab the 2 straps on the top of the dirty element and lift it out of the housing. As the element clears the housing, wrap the plastic bag around the element and turn upright with the bag opening towards you.
- Page 13 Owner’s Manual With Instructions Parker Racor Absolute Oil Cleaner Demo Machine 6. Set the filter selector valve handle to Absolute Filter. Turn on the pump motor and operate until fluid begins flowing into the clear tank chamber. 7. Stop the pump motor.

Do not use a strap wrench or any other tool to tighten the element on the head, damage will result. 5. Turn the filter selector valve handle to Full Flow Filter. Turn on the pump motor and operate until fluid is visible flowing into the clear tank chamber.
