The following procedure verifies that the 6430 is installed
properly and that it was not damaged during shipment.
After installing the 6430 as described in Chapter 2, test your
installation as follows.
Warning
Perform this initial power up with the motor shaft disconnected
from the load. Improper wiring or undiscovered shipping damage
could result in undesired motor motion. Be prepared to remove
power if excessive motion occurs.
1. Check all wiring and mounting to verify correct
installation.
2. With the power Off, check that S1 is set as follows (factory
default settings):

These settings reflect the following:
- Step size of 1/25
- Digital electronic damping enabled
- Idle current reduction enabled
- 5 A rms motor current
Warning
If the motor is rated at less than 5 A rms winding current, set
positions 6, 7, & 8 accordingly.
