Carus Argos Outdoor Door Communication System Camera Microphone Transponder Loudspeaker Your Carus Argos package shall contain the following items. When you bring this card next to the transponder reader of your Argos station, it will direct you to the configuration menu. The configuration menu has the following options – Camera Audio Display IP Address Sabotage Protection Camera – This section addresses to the camera settings like angle, zoom etc. Audio – This section can be used to alter the sound settings. Display – This section can be used to adjust the brightness level with a manual and automatic option. IP Address – Through this section, you can manage the device’s IP address, DHCP connection, web-server port, subnet, gateway, DNS server 1, DNS server 2 etc. Sabotage Protection –...

The green colored card is used to enter the Enrollment Menu. When you bring this card next to the transponder reader of your Argos station, it will direct you to the enrollment section. The enrollment menu will display the details of all your associated contacts registered in the device. The RFID code or PIN for each user can be allocated from this section. In order to enroll a new user, the following steps need to be performed. (mentioned below) Enrollment of a new user Step 1 – Connect to your Argos network and type the IP address – 192.168.178.2 Step 2 – You will then be directed to the System Administration screen of your Carus Argos. (shown below) Step 3 – Kindly enter the User menu. (6 option on the left) This section will help you with the following functions. Add new user(s) Remove existing user(s) Check the contact details Editing user information of existing user(s) Other miscellaneous Uploading profile image changes Please check the image shown below. Step 4 – In order to enroll a new user, click on the option – New Step 5 – Mention all the relevant details like your name, date of birth etc. along with the desired PIN code of your choice. It is the same PIN code which will grant you access into your apartment, through the Argos outdoor station. Step 6 – Once you’ve entered the required information, please click on Set and the user will now be saved into the system. Note In case you wish to assign a RFID code for the new user, first use the green card to enter the enrollment menu and choose the new user’s name. You shall then receive two options – PIN & RFID. PIN - The user’s PIN code can also be set from this section. RFID - An RFID pin will automatically be generated by the system, for the new respective user. You’ll be required to present your RFID card close to the transponder, in order to execute this step successfully. Success! The grey colored card can be used for gaining access into your apartment. When you bring this card next to the transponder reader of your Argos station, it will grant you access, if it has already been registered into the system. In case the card isn’t registered, the access to your apartment shall be denied.

Carus Argos System Administration Please enter the IP address in order to enter the system administration page – 192.168.178.2 Home Login / Logout – This section shall help you in configuring the admin password along with the configuration settings. System Information – This section will give you information about your system’s data and with your system’s log. For example - The show log option under system log will help you access information regarding all the entries granted by your Argos station, within a specific period of time. Menu Configuration – This section will help you customise the menu of your Argos outdoor station. For example Standard Screen – Which screen would you prefer to be the standard screen – main screen or the phone dialing screen? Name LCD start page – What would you like to be displayed on the main LCD startup screen? Phone mode – The mode should be a phone book mode or a number pad mode? Call procedure – Would you prefer the calls to be made immediately or with a confirmation? Interaction on access – Should there be time recording or not?

Basic settings – This section will help you configure the basic settings in your Argos outdoor station. For example – language, time, date, LCD brightness etc. Network settings – This is the section for configuring your IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway address, DNS Servers 1 & 2 along with DHCP and Server port. SIP Configuration – All settings with respect to the SIP server can be made through this section. Please check the image shown below.

** We always recommend the use of a SIP server. In order to configure this server, the information mentioned in the server domain, username, authentication name, password etc. should be similar to that of your SIP server (for example – Fritzbox). However, in case of the absence of a SIP server, peer to peer calls can be made up to a maximum of 40 users. Audio / Video – In this section the following settings can be configured. Audio Settings: for configuring audio in, audio out, signal volume along with audio codec and audio AGC. JPEG Video Setting: for configuring video settings like server port, video resolution, picture quality, width & height. SIP Video Setting: for configuring SIP video settings like video resolution, video bandwidth, width & height. Zoom & Pan: for video zooming and setting video positions. Motion JPEG Video Stream: for viewing the video streaming. Note There are various video format options available on the Argos platform. QVGA Quarter Video Graphics Array is a display that uses 320x240 resolution (320 pixels horizontally by 240 pixels vertically) or 240x320 resolution if the display is taller than wide. CIF It stands for Common Intermediate Format. It ranges from: CIF 352x240, 2CIF 704x240, or 4CIF 704x480. It is basically a term used to identify the level of resolution that the “picture grabber” can produce. VGA It stands for Video Graphics Array. It refers to a resolution which uses 640 pixels horizontally by 480 pixels vertically – 640x480. SVGA It stands for Super Video Graphics Array. Since it uses 800 pixels horizontally by 600 pixels vertically (800x600), it is known to produce good quality images. Please check the image shown below. (on the next page)

Interface Configuration – This section is divided into three parts – Alarm inputs, Alarm connections & Relay. This section thus helps in configuring all the alarm settings.

Upload / Download – This section is useful for downloading information regarding the device’s configuration, user(s) and event handler.
