Connection cables

Rexroth MAD and MAF Motors in EX px d Design acc. to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU
WARNING
The motor within ATEX atmospheres may only be commissioned as an over‐
all system in connection with an Ex-p control device for motor purging. The
necessary control device must be classified and certified according to the
same or a higher category of the motor.
Via the control device, provide an automatic functional unit including a safety
device, whereby electrical devices within a pressurized housing can only be
energized, if a pre-purging of the system is done.
Certification of the motors according to the ignition protection class
● Ex d (encoder housing)

Observe the notes of the manufacturer about motor purging when
selecting and commissioning the control device when designing
the drive system.
Only Bosch Rexroth connection cables are to be used to operate
the motors in explosive atmospheres.
Bosch Rexroth provides suitable ready-made connection cables for the mo‐
tors. They are checked for conformity with the directives and relevant DIN
and EN standards. When selecting cables, use the following documentation:
