Power cable connection on termi‐
nal box
Rexroth MAD and MAF Motors in EX px d Design acc. to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU
The following description of the power connection refers to the connection of
the motor with a power cable. Depending from the motor power, it can be
necessary to use two power cables (double cabling). Please, observe the
notes in
Fig. 9.3
about double cabling.
We recommend keeping the following standard tools at hand to connect the
motors:
1 torque screwdriver 1/4" (adjustable)
1 torque wrench 1/2" (with adjustment scale)
1 socket wrench set 1/4" + 1/2"
1 set of Allen keys
1 set of combination wrenches
Proceed as follows when connecting the power cable within the terminal box
of the motor:
The outgoing direction required for the power cable is selected in the type
code of the motor. The terminal box is mounted to the motor at the factory,
based on the outgoing direction defined by the user.
When selecting the "rotating terminal box" connection option, the
user can adjust the outgoing cable direction to new or changed
connection conditions directly at the place of use and at any time,
simply by "rotating" the terminal box.
Proceed as follows to connect the power cable to the terminal box:
1.
Open the terminal box lid ①.
Unscrew and remove the mounting screws (4 pcs.).
