5.5 Manual mode
The Manual mode allows the user to manually operate the emitter and override the current setting.
It is able to force the emitter to heat or to not for a set amount of time. After the time expires, the
emitter will return to the previous mode of operation.
The Manual mode is designed to allow a user to override the Program mode without having to
change the program itself. For example, if you arrive when the emitter is normally unheated, you
can heat the space to a comfortable temperature, and then ensure that the emitter returns to its
normal mode without changing the program.
To enter Manual mode, touch the suitcase key and then use the p and q
keys to enter the amount of time you want to force the emitter to heat or not.
First the number of days is selected; enter between 0 and 365 days and
confirm using the OK key. If you only want a few hours, touch OK to enter
0 days.
The menu then moves to the number of hours selection. The user is able to enter the amount of
time to operate in 1 minute increments up to 1 hour, after which time the steps increase to 30 mi-
nutes increments.
When the total desired time is entered, confirm with the OK key.
Please note the default minimum time is 30 minutes, however this can be decreased using
the q key.
Finally, the desired temperature can be set by the p
and q keys; any temperature between 7 °C and 30 °C
(in steps of 0.5 °C) can be entered. Unheated mode can
be entered from either 7 °C or 30 °C by touching the p
or q keys once from each extreme. Unheated mode is
displayed with 4 dashes on the screen (- - - -). When the
desired temperature is entered confirm with the OK key.
The screen will display "DONE".
If no key is touched within 30 seconds before final confirmation, or the Mode key is touched, the
emitter will return to the previous mode of operation.
The selected time will remain on the display and count down until it is finished. Although the set
time cannot be changed, it is possible to change the set point temperature during the operation of
Manual mode.
Once the set time has elapsed, the emitter will automatically return to the
previous mode of operation.
To exit Manual mode at any time, touch the Mode key and the emitter will
return to the previous mode of operation.
In the case where the power is disconnected to the emitter, the Manual mode settings will be
saved and the remaining time will count down even though the emitter is powered-off.
