11 Maintenance of the stove

Have your chimney flue swept by a specialist at least twice per year, including once during the heating season.
At this time, have the entire stove and the connection duct cleaned and checked by a competent professional who:
•
Thoroughly cleans the stove and checks the connections between the different components.
•
Replace any worn components as necessary (door seal in particular)
If the stove is not used for any length of time, check there are no obstructions in the flue prior to lighting.
For the stove to operate properly, safely and ecologically, it is necessary to carry out regular maintenance of the
components involved in combustion and exposed to combustion fumes.
ATTENTION : WARNING: when performing maintenance, turn the main switch to (0) so that the stove cannot come
on. Fire hazard: make sure there are no pellet embers present when cleaning. The stove and its components can
remain hot for a long time. Make sure that it has cooled sufficiently before touching it. Risk of burning !!! The
location of the stove must allow easy cleaning of the connection duct, and the flue duct.
Crucible:
The crucible should be checked and emptied daily. Wet or poor-quality pellets can lead to hard deposits (scale)
building up in the crucible. This can lead to difficult or dangerous ignition, poor combustion, or the flame going out
due to lack of air.
Maintenance to perform with the stove stopped and cooled: open the door, extract the crucible and empty it into a
suitable container. Check that the holes in the crucible are not blocked with ash and put the crucible back the right
way around.
