CM-16 Technician Installation Guide This step-by-step guide is designed to provide complete installation details for the Aastra CM-16 cordless telephone. CM-16 Installation The CM-16 consists of a base station, wireless handset and a charging base stand. When properly installed, it can simulate and be configured as a digital set such as the M2616.

• Once you have configured the digital line, you can test the digital line/jack using a M2616 or M2008 or other. • The polarity of the M1 digital line circuit must be correct as shown in Fig. 1. • The CM16 can be added as an extension using the second port of an existing line card. Installation Procedure There are seven steps required in the installation process.

When the handset is placed in the cradle the first time, or if the battery was fully discharged, or if you unplug and reconnect a battery, the battery icon will blink with four bars from left to right to indicate that the battery is being charged. • The CM16 is proprietary to Nortel M1 Switch. • The CM16 is not design to support ACD mode and remote office (off-premise) applications. • CM16 Base Station units should be at least 12 feet between each other, including WiFi, to prevent interference and poor quality voice communication.
