CAUTION:
(7) Install the mounting bolts with washers through the
engine flange and into the propeller hub flange. Refer to
Figure 3-4.
(8) Use a torque wrench and the specified torque wrench
adaptor (Refer to the section, "Tooling" in this chapter)
to torque all mounting bolts in sequences and steps
shown in Figure 3-2. Refer to Table 3-2 and Figure 3-1 to
determine the proper torque value.
(9) Safety all mounting bolts with 0.032 inch (0.81 mm)
minimum diameter stainless steel wire or equivalent
aircraft safety cable and associated hardware (two bolts
per safety).
CAUTION:
(10) Procedure for reinstallation of piston nut, if applicable.
(a) Following the installation of the propeller, use a
breaker bar and a 5/8 inch deep well socket to hold
the pitch change rod.
(b) Using a crowfoot wrench and torque wrench, torque
the A-880-( ) piston nut. Refer to Table 3-2 and
Figure 3-1 for the proper torque value.

ID CHAMFER OF WASHER MUST BE
FACING TOWARD THE BOLT HEAD.
WASHERS WITHOUT CHAMFER MUST
BE INSTALLED WITH ROLLED EDGES

TO FACILITATE BOXING AND SHIPPING
OF PROPELLERS, THE PISTON NUT
(A-880-1) ON HC-B3( )( )-2( ) STEEL HUB
TURBINE PROPELLERS MAY HAVE BEEN
REMOVED TO ALLOW ROTATING OF THE
BLADES BEFORE PACKAGING.
The removal and subsequent reinstallation
of the piston nut does not require that the
propeller blade angles be re-checked.
