Chapter 6 Channel Setup
6.5 Video Capture Menus
Before going on in this manual it is important to understand that Concord Digital Video Recorders are capable of
recording and sending alerts of events in three different ways:
1.
Continuous recording – the camera records continuously until it fills up your Hard Disk Drive (HDD)
storage and begins recording over the old videos from the beginning.
2.
Motion – the camera records only if a moving object is detected by the camera.
3.
PIR – using the signal from the PIR sensor the camera utilises its Thermal Detect algorithm to
determine if the moving object is a different temperature to the surrounding area, only if it fits that
profile will it begin recording.
The following menus allow you to set up these recording methods and fine tune them so you only record events
that are relevant to you and minimise how much of your storage you are using.
