SKOPE VF Series Cycles Defrost Cycle To ensure efficient operation, the electronic controller forces a defrost cycle when required. During a defrost cycle, the compressor stops, DEF and the will display on the electronic controller faceplate. The freezer will resume normal operation once the defrost cycle has finished.
SKOPE VF Series Temperature Probes Three temperature probes feed data to the electronic controller - the control, ambient and evaporator probes. Refer to page 73 for information on servicing the probes. Control Probe The control probe controls the freezertemperature and provides the freezer temperature for the electronic controller to display.
SKOPE VF Series Alarms The following table explains messages that the electronic controller displays and related alarms. Alarms signal unexpected operational changes in the freezer and stop when action is taken to resolve the problem. Controller alarms Code Display Alarm...
SKOPE VF Series Programming Set-Point The VF Freezer Range is manufactured with a pre-set control temperature set-point. If this set-point does not match your required storage temperature it is recommended that you change the set-point accordingly. The set-point can be adjusted between a temperature range as detailed in the table below.
SKOPE VF Series Controller To delete program modifications and reset the controller to SKOPE default Reset program, to change the cabinet operational mode (e.g. change use from freezer to ice storage cabinet), or when a replacement controller is being fitted, a ‘Controller Reset’ must be performed.
Default Program Configuration Factory Default Configuration of the controller is set by SKOPE to a specific SKOPE Product. The factory default cannot be altered in the field. A label on the controller box indicates the default program configuration number (e.g.

SKOPE VF Series Operation Optional Door Lock Cabinets fitted with optional door locks have a key barrel type lock at the top each door. Use the supplied keys to lock and unlock the door as necessary. Loading Product Let the cabinet run for 30 minutes before loading it with product for the first time.
SKOPE VF Series Replacement Procedures Sign Assembly The chiller is fitted with either a sign replacement panel (not lit) or a lit sign, which can be removed for transporting or moving through doorways or confined spaces. Refer to the procedures below to remove and refit the sign assembly.
SKOPE VF Series Lighting The cabinet is designed for use with LED tubes and is not compatible with fluorescent tubes. As with any maintenance, ensure the cabinet is disconnected from the power supply before replacing light tubes. IMPORTANT DO NOT use fluorescent tubes.
Page 55
SKOPE VF Series To replace the sign light 1. Disconnect the cabinet from the mains power supply. 2. Remove the sign assembly. Lift the assembly up and off the sign sides and unplug it from the cabinet (see page 53).
SKOPE VF Series Doors Depending on the model, the cabinet is fitted with one, two or three glass paned or solid foam filled doors. Door hinging can be reversed if desired (see “To reverse the door hinging” on page 59).
SKOPE VF Series Tension The glass door has an internal torsion bar, pretensioned at the factory, which Adjustment enables the door to self-close. If necessary, door tension can be adjusted by rotating the capstan mounted in the bottom hinge bracket.
SKOPE VF Series Removal and For ease of servicing, and reversing hinging, the door can be removed from Refitting the cabinet. To remove the door 1. Disconnect the cabinet from the mains power supply. 2. Remove the control panel cover (see page 60), and disconnect the door heater element flex from the electrics panel.
SKOPE VF Series Hinge Reversal The door can be hinged on either the left or right hand side. When reversing the hinging, order and fit the opposite top hinge, door switch holder, and bottom hinge. Refer to the table below for top hinge and door switch holder part numbers.
SKOPE VF Series Cabinet Electrics Control Panel The control panel is located above the doors and contains cabinet electrical terminals and the electronic controller. Fuses and other electrical componentry are located in the unit junction box. Refer to the steps below to access the cabinet electrical terminals, page 72 for electronic controller service information, and page 66 for unit junction box information.
SKOPE VF Series Refrigeration Unit Introduction SKOPE VF Series refrigeration units are top mounted, electronically controlled removable cassettes. For major servicing or transportation, the refrigeration unit unplugs and lifts off the cabinet. Some servicing can be performed without removing the refrigeration unit.
SKOPE VF Series Removing the For major servicing or transportation, the refrigeration unit can be removed Refrigeration from the cabinet. Some servicing can be performed without removing the Unit refrigeration unit. The refrigeration unit is heavy and requires a minimum of two people to lift from the cabinet.

SKOPE VF Series 6. Undo the three unit fixing screws: two located on the outside end of the evaporator box and one located between the compressor and condenser coil. 7. The unit can now be hoisted or lifted from the cabinet. The refrigeration unit is heavy and requires a minimum of two people to lift from the cabinet.
SKOPE VF Series High Pressure The unit is fitted with an automatic reset pressure switch. If the pressure Switch switch is triggered, the electronic controller will stop the compressor for approximately 20 minutes after the pressure has reduced, then automatically switch it back on. The IA alarm will be displpayed while the pressure switch is active.
SKOPE VF Series Unit Junction The unit junction box is mounted on the front of the evaporator box and contains cabinet and unit electrical componentry. See table further below for electrical component information Cabinet electrics fuses Element relay EMI filter/surge protector...
The fan speed is switched by the compressor contactor. When replacing the fan it is important that the replacement part is programmed to the correct speed. Parts ordered from SKOPE are programmed at the factory and should not need to be re-programmed. IMPORTANT Ensure the fan motor is programmed to the correct speeds.
