Symptom
No operation occurs when
an operation key is pressed.

Cause
÷ Batteries are exhausted.
÷ The remote control is too far away
from the system, the controlling angle
is deviated or there is an obstacle in
between.
÷ There is no tape or CD set in the
component to be played.
÷ An attempt is made to play the cas-
sette deck which is recording some-
thing.
÷ The MULTI CONTROL setting mode
is activated.
Cause
÷ The MULTI CONTROL setting mode
is activated.
÷ Replace with new batteries.
÷ Operate the unit within the remote
controllable range.
÷ Set a tape or CD in the component to
be played.
÷ Wait until the recording ends.
÷ Cancel the MULTI CONTROL setting
mode.
÷ Cancel the MULTI CONTROL setting
mode.
Note to CATV system installer
This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer's
attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guide-
lines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that
the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding sys-
tem of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as
practical
