Return to original settings
When the calibration check of all channels is completed the settings of the LDS
6 must be returned to their original values and the fibre connections must be
put in their original positions!
Perform the following for all channels.
1. Enter original settings in the Pressure Correction screen (82).
2. Enter original settings in the Temperature Correction screen (83).
3. Enter original settings in the Path Length screen (85).
4. Deactivate the Calibration Mode in the Span Calibration screen (21).
5. Remove the 2-meter hybrid cable of the reference kit and connect the original
hybrid cable
Annual Functional test
In addition to the linearity check carried out at service intervals according to the
instruction above the following procedure is suggested for performance of the annual
functional test by an accredited measurement institute (e.g. according
Bundesimmissionsschutz-Gesetz BImSchG§§ 26, 28).
1. Visual check of the instrument including the sensor system
2. Check the diagnostic parameters (relative and absolute transmission value,
temperature, pressure, path length)
3. Check and if necessary clean the optical interfaces and purge gas pipes
4. Check the purge gas supply
5. Check the alignment of the sensor unit using the alignment kit
6. Check the parameterisation and functional capability of the pressure and
temperature compensation
7. Check the documentation (logbook entries, maintenance book)
8. Check that the requirement for cross interference (< 4 %) is fulfilled under
consideration that the concentration limit for methane is 15 mg/m
9. Recommended maintenance interval for checking the optical alignment and
fouling of windows is 2 weeks
