Preparations for Linearity Check

At the reference cell

Slide the sensor card into its holder on one of the reference cell modules. Insert the

detector module into the hole on the reference point box and twist 90° to lock.

Connect the multi-mode fibre and the power cable of the 2-meter hybrid cable to the

sensor card. Connect the single mode fibre to the E2000 connector of the launcher.

Set up at the one of the 5 RC 3009 verification cells.

At the central unit site

For the channel that is to be checked, replace the hybrid cable at the back of the

central unit with the other end of the 2-meter hybrid cable.

Protect the fibre ends from any dust or dirt. The performance of the analyzer may

decrease substantially if the fibre ends become contaminated.

Linearity Check

On the MMI, go to the Diagnostic Values Screen (function number 2) and check the

transmission of the specific channel. Adjust the potentiometer of the detector so that

the Current Transmission becomes approximately 200 units. If there is no

transmission at all, the cable connections should be checked.

Before altering any parameters, note the original settings so that you can

return to these later!

1. Go to the Pressure Correction screen (82). Set the mode to Manual.

Enter the Manual Value 1013 mbar.

2. Go to the Temperature Correction screen (83). Set the mode to Manual. Set the

Manual Value to 23 °C.

3. Go to the Path Length screen (85). Set the path length to 1 meter.

4. Go to the Span Calibration screen (21). Activate calibration mode
