Wireless DMX System
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications
The transmitter WT-1DMX and the receiver
WR-2DMX are used for wireless transmission of
DMX512 signals in lighting installations. With
these units, extensive cabling between the DMX
controller and the DMX-controlled units is not
required.
The AFHSS technology (Automatic Frequency
Hopping Spread Spectrum) will allow interfer-
ence-free operation, even together with Bluetooth
and WLAN. When transmitting, the system will
alternate 1000 times per second between 83 fre-
quencies of the 2.4 GHz range and skip any fre-
quencies already used by other units.
A single transmitter will transmit all 512 DMX
channels to a maximum of 512 receivers. Each
receiver allows connection of 32 DMX units. It will
be possible to operate 16 transmitters at the same
time in order to control a total of 8192 DMX chan-
nels. The maximum range is 700 m.
1.1 Conformity and approval
Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL declare
that the transmitter WT-1DMX is in accordance
with the basic requirements and the other relevant
regulations of the directive 1995/5/EC. The dec-
laration of conformity can be found in the Internet
via the MONACOR INTERNATIONAL home page
(www.imgstageline.com).
The transmitter is licence-free and generally
approved for operation in EU and EFTA countries.

2 Safety Notes

The units (power supply unit, transmitter, receiver)
correspond to all required directives of the EU and
are therefore marked with
.
WARNING
The power supply unit uses dan-
gerous mains voltage (230 V~).
Leave servicing to skilled person-
nel only; inexpert handling may
result in electric shock.
G
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Pro-
tect them against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not operate the power supply unit and
immediately disconnect the mains plug from the
socket
1. if one of the units is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled
personnel.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never
use water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liabil-
ity for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the units are
used for other purposes than originally in-
tended, if they are not correctly operated, or if
they are not repaired in an expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recy-
cling plant for a disposal which is not
harmful to the environment.
3 Installation of a wireless DMX network
3.1 Connecting the transmitter and the receiver
1) Insert the antennas provided (5, 10) into the
transmitter and receiver respectively, screw
them on and place them in a vertical position.
2) Connect the transmitter via the jack DMX-
INPUT (4) to the DMX controller.
3) Connect the power supply unit provided to
the jack 9 – 12 V (1) and to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz). The red LED (3) will shortly
light up/be extinguished once per second if no
DMX signal is applied to the transmitter.
4) Connect the receiver via the jack DMX-OUT-
PUT (9) to the DMX input of the first DMX-con-
trolled unit.
5) Connect the DMX output of the first DMX-con-
trolled unit to the DMX input of the following
DMX-controlled unit; connect its output again
to the input of the following unit etc. until
32 light effect units as a maximum have been
connected in a chain. After 32 units, insert a
level matching amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX by
"img Stage Line"). Connect a 120 Ω terminat-
ing plug (e. g. DLT-123 by "img Stage Line") to
the DMX output jack of the last DMX unit in the
chain.
Alternatively, provide each DMX-controlled
unit with its individual receiver. Thus, cabling
between the DMX units will not be required.
6) Connect the power supply unit of the receiver
to the jack 9 – 12 V (6) and to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz). The green LED (8) is used as
a status indication.
The LED is extinguished: The receiver has not
been assigned to a transmitter.
The LED is illuminated permanently: The
receiver has been assigned to a transmitter
and a DMX signal is being transmitted.
The LED is shortly extinguished once per sec-
ond: The receiver has been assigned to a trans-
mitter; however, no DMX signal is transmitted.
The LED is flashing rapidly at regular intervals:
The corresponding transmitter is switched off
or the receiver is just being assigned to the
transmitter.

3.2 Assigning a transmitter to the receivers
Switch on the transmitter and any receivers sup-
posed to receive DMX signals from this trans-
mitter.
1) On each receiver in succession, keep the
recessed button FUNCTION (7) pressed for
3 seconds with a thin object until the green
LED (8) is extinguished. Thus, the receiver is
reset, i. e. not assigned to any transmitter.
2) On the transmitter, shortly press the recessed
button FUNCTION (2) with a thin object. The
LEDs on the transmitter and on the receivers
will shortly flash rapidly. If the LEDs flash
slowly again (no DMX signal) or are illuminated
permanently again (DMX signal available), the
receivers have been assigned to the transmit-
ter. Thus, the wireless DMX network is set up
and allows wireless control of the DMX-con-
trolled units. The assignment of the receivers
to the transmitter is kept memorized even after
switching off.
3.3 Parallel wireless DMX networks
It will be possible to operate 16 wireless DMX net-
works with 16 transmitters and 16 DMX con-
trollers in parallel without mutual interference.
1) Reset any receivers to be assigned to the sec-
ond transmitter: Keep the button FUNCTION
(7) pressed for 3 seconds.
Alternatively, keep the button FUNCTION
(2) pressed for 3 seconds at a transmitter until
its LED (3) starts flashing for a short time. Thus,
any receivers assigned to this transmitter will be
reset. (Prior to this, switch off any receivers sup-
posed to be kept assigned to this transmitter.)
2) On the second transmitter, shortly press the
button FUNCTION (2). Any receivers that have
been reset will be assigned to this transmitter.
3) Repeat these steps for each additional wire-
less DMX network.
