1 Operating Elements and Connections

1.1 SCAN-22LED
1 Locking screws for the mounting bracket (2)
2 Mounting bracket
3 Power LED
4 DIP switches No. 1 – 9 to set the DMX start address
(
chapter 7.2) and to select master or slave
mode (
chapter 6.1);
DIP switch No. 10 to select the operating mode in
the slave mode (
5 Indicating LED
lighting permanently or flickering to the beat of the
music: master mode
flashing permanently: DMX or slave mode
6 Cover of the gobo wheel
7 Jack to connect the receiver of the wireless remote
controller LC-9RTX (optional)
8 Jack to connect the cable remote controller LC-3
(optional)
9 Support for the mains fuse
Always replace a blown fuse by one of the same
type.
10 Mains jack for connection to a socket (230 V~ /
50 Hz) via the mains cable provided
11 DMX signal input (3-pole XLR) to connect a light
controller;
Pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
12 DMX signal output (3-pole XLR) to connect the
DMX input of another light effect unit;
Pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
13 Heat sink
14 Locking screw for the cover of the housing
1.2 Remote controller LC-3
The remote controller LC-3 is available as an acces-
sory and not supplied with the SCAN-22LED.
15 Button STAND BY to deactivate the light beam; at
the same time, the mirror will go to its starting posi-
tion
16 Button FUNCTION to select various functions
depending on the operating mode selected with the
button MODE (17) [
17 Button MODE to switch between:
– Stroboscope mode
LED next to the button MODE: off
– Selection of the motion program with the button
FUNCTION
LED next to the button MODE: on

Note: For control via the remote controller, there must be no
DMX signal at the input DMX IN (11).

2 Safety Notes

The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains voltage.
Never make any modification on the
unit not described in this instruction
manual and do not insert anything into
the air vents! Inexpert handling may
result in electric shock.
Please observe the following items in any case:

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range: 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not operate the unit or immediately disconnect
the mains plug from the socket
1. if the unit or the mains cable is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains
plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not safely mounted,
not correctly connected or operated, or if it is not
repaired in an expert way.

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord -
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
