INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION The Planmeca Ethernet Interface is for use with the Planmeca Dixi3 digital intra X-ray system or with the Planmeca Proline XC X-ray with Dimax3 system and Planmeca Dimaxis Pro and Dimaxis Classic imaging softwares. This manual describes how to install and use the system. -

PLANMECA ETHERNET INTERFACE Attach the RJ45 Cat. 5 UTP cable from 10/100 Base-T directly to the hub or the cross-con- nected Cat. 5 UTP cable to the computer. The Link light comes on on the Planmeca Ethernet Interface. Attach the 15m interconnection cable from Dixi3 either to Port 1 or Port 2 (or to both of them in case you use two Dixi2 systems). - Page 8 The sync cable is required when you want to store the exposure parameters with the image. It is also required when you want to use the Planmeca Intra control panel in the Dimaxis 4.0 software Intraoral Exposure window. The exposure parameters can be set in this window if you are using the Planmeca Intra with updated software 3.0.3.

From the appearing window select Ethernet Interface . In the Ethernet Interface window the Dixi Ethernet Interface, the ProMax Ethernet Interface and the Proline Ethernet Interface can be configured.

INSTALLATION OF THE PLANMECA ETHERNET INTERFACE BOX TO THE PLANMECA PROLINE XC X-RAY 3.2 Installing Planmeca Ethernet Interface To install the Planmeca Ethernet Interface first attach the Ethernet interface box to the power supply and plug the power supply to the mains. Page 20: Upgrading Ethernet Interface Software
Upgrading the software While the Set button is pressed and held with a sharp pin when the Planmeca Ethernet Box is powered up, Ethernet Box will boot up using the 10.1.0.5 IP address and listen for a new soft- ware on the network. - Page 21 UPGRADING ETHERNET INTERFACE SOFTWARE The Local Area Connection Properties window appears. - Page 22 UPGRADING ETHERNET INTERFACE SOFTWARE Change the IP address to 10.1.0.x (for example 10.1.0.10) and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. Click OK. a: Connect a Cross connected Cat. 5 UTP cable between the PC and the Ethernet box. b: Make sure the computer and the ethernet box are connected to same network. Before doing this ask the local network administrator that it is allowed to use these IP settings temporarily.
- Page 23 UPGRADING ETHERNET INTERFACE SOFTWARE To run the software update, give the command: loader 10.1.0.5 SOFTWAREFILE (e.g. loader 10.1.0.5 dixibox1_4_2_0R.sr). Press and hold the Ethernet box Set button (1) with a sharp pin and plug in the power supply cable (2) (see picture below).
- Page 24 UPGRADING ETHERNET INTERFACE SOFTWARE 11. Wait at least a minute before disconnecting the power cable. The Flash chip in the Ethernet box will be programmed and this takes some time. It is safe to disconnect the power cable after link led goes off and on again.
