7 Troubleshooting

7.1 Troubleshooting Table

SYMPTOMS
Noisy or dry sound from pivots.
Electric actuator fails to lift or legs fail to open
when button is pressed.
Unusual noise from lift arm actuator.
Lift arms will not lower in uppermost position.

FAULTS
Needs lubrication.
Hand-control or actuator connector loose.
Battery low.
RED emergency stop button pressed IN.
Battery not connected properly to control
box.
The connecting terminals are damaged.
Electric actuator in need of service or load is
too high.
Actuator is worn or damaged or spindle is
bent.
Lift arms require a minimum weight load to
lower from the uppermost position.
SOLUTION
Refer to 8.6 Lubricating the Lift, page 40.
Connect hand control or actuator connector.
Ensure connectors are seated properly and
fully connected.
Charge batteries. Refer to 4.7 Charging the
Battery, page 21.
Rotate RED emergency stop button
CLOCKWISE until it pops out.
Reconnect the battery to the control box.
Refer to 4.7 Charging the Battery, page 21.
Replace the battery pack. Refer to 4.7
Charging the Battery, page 21.
Refer to 8.7 Replacing the Electric Actuator,
page 41 or 8.8 Replacing the Leg Actuators,
page 42. Contact your Dealer or Invacare
representative.

representative.
Pull down slightly on the lift arms.
